René Aubé — Sales manager
At Piccolo since the beginning of time, René Aubé is also a singer-guitar player and songwriter. He is dedicated to the satisfaction of his clients. He books the dates, and suggests which room to choose from. Everybody knows René, everybody likes him. His knowledge lets him know in a flash what to offer his clients, from the most experienced producers to the musicians booking their first recording session. He also knows how to help the most demanding sound technicians. Expert juggler, he always comes up with the right package to meet all kinds of budgets. He loves sitting down with people and planning what is best for their projects. He spends the whole week on site at the East end location but if you catch him out you can always reach him on his cell, 514.803.4137.

Present at Studios Piccolo since 2005, she works mostly on week-ends: coffee specialist, in charge of organizing the lunches for clients and all the little details of studio life. She also takes care of some administrative tasks. She makes sure that every detail has been taken care of, that's what she loves!
Kathy Chgasles-Bélec — Assistant manager and financial manager
Part of the Studios Piccolo team since 2003, Kathy started out by putting together the unbeattable Piccolo customer service. Climbing up the ladder with her wit and her desire to learn, she is now assistant to René. In other words, it means that she's in charge of a multitude of tasks, mainly taking care of the companie's accounting. Even though her daily tasks keep her really busy, she never forgets to take time for her customers to make their experience at the studio the best it can be!

After working in a bunch of studios and with artists of all kinds, Guillaume joined the Studios Piccolo team in 2008. With all his experience and knowledge, he knows exactly how to give the people he works with what they need and what they want. He really enjoys the variety of equipment that is available at the studio because all colors of sound are right there at your fingertips. But if he had to choose only one piece, it would have to be the Universal Audio 1176, which he says "is the Bomb!"

François Éric Lalonde — Sound engineer, Producer
François Lalonde started out as a live soundman. He joined the Piccolo staff in 1999. He quickly went from assistant to main technician and then mix technician for artists of the likes of Celine Dion, Garou, Wilfred Le Bouthillier, Corneliu, Pierre Lapointe, Corneille and Ily Morgan. He has been a close collaborator of the famous Humberto Gatica for the past few years which has brought him to travel to Paris, Los Angeles and New York. Mixing and producing is at the top of François Lalonde's list. His preferred equipment is the Neve A80 mixing desk in the A room. Its unique configuration gives a choice of 16 of the famous 1073 pre-amps and 16 33114 pre; the texture, the warmth, and the power of the big room can be captured like magic.
Ghyslain Luc Lavigne — Recording and mixing engineer

Ghyslain first worked at Studios Piccolo in 1997 as an assistant. He came in with previous experience in sound for theatre. Being a musician, his love of music quickly brought him to be a highly sought after sound mixer. He merited a Felix for René Flageole's record. He has worked for Marie-Chantal Toupin, France D'Amour, Marc Pérusse to name just a few. His years of ProTools teacher at CEGEP Maisonneuve comes in handy for his task as leader of the technical team at Studios Piccolo. His preferred equipment: The RCA BK-5 for the smooth brown sound "magma" that this microphone provides. With it, even the poorest instrument sounds great.

Arrived in August, 2004, also a guitar player, Dominique is building himself a solid place in the Piccolo team. Graduate of CEGEP de Drummondville, meticulous and serious, he is always ready to jump into action.
His preferred equipment: The Neve A80 in the "A" room, because it is the board that sounds the best in Montreal. This console has an incomparable feel and on top of that, it is unique!
Manuel Marie — Sound engineer, assistant sound engineer
Arrived from France in 2004 where he studied and interned at
prestigious studios, Manuel is both the technical assistant of Studios
Piccolo and technician on various recording sessions. Enthusiastic, he
also has a preference for the new Studio B's SSl Duality for its
amazing amount of possibilities, and its accuracy in the processing.
Gautier Marinof — Sound engineer, Producer, musician
Alternative, violin player, amazing talent, Gautier works with established artists as well as new band to help them find the sound. He joined Piccolo in October 2003. He studied electronics at CEGEP du Vieux Montreal. His preferred equipment: The Neve A80 in Room "A" with the fabulous Neve 1073, the stereo compressor, the custom "bussing" and the automation, all this provides the best environment for ideal tracking situations.

Dominique Messier — Drummer and Producer
Dominique, one of the Studios Piccolo owners, is first and foremost a musician and producer. Drummer, Logic Pro expert and multi-intrumentalist, he is always committed to producing projects, writing songs or doing drum tracks. His drumming career is outstanding: 13 years of TV series, more than 300 recordings, many World Tours and thousands of hours of recording. He has been Céline Dion's drummer since the summer of 1995. Silly—and sometimes funny!—high-spirited, open and generous, he lives for his Volkswagen off-road desert adventures, is also a hockey player, espresso coffee drinker and Brunello de Montalcino wine lover !
Supporting the evolution of the studio with care has been Dominique's priority all along since it was created in 1976. His goal is to provide the best and warmest environment, one that is ideal for the creative experience.
Pierre Messier — Recording, mixing engineer, musician and composer
Pierre is the good guy. He knows the hows and the don'ts, the gear, the machines, the mikes.He's a multi-talented musician too and he his funny.
With diplomas in Saxophone at Cegep St-Laurent and jazz studies at Concordia University, he his an artist. Pierre has become a recording and mixing technician working with his brothers Dominique et Francois on thousands of projects at Studios Piccolo. He's been there for more than 30 years! Being a musician, he his a real asset to any productions. He can tackle any kind of projects, from contemporary or classical music to recording big bands or pop and rock music he has done everything. His passion for music is obvious. Devoted to all the projects, he works tiredlessly, he his not afraid to put in the hours. His place of choice is the Lepailleur location. From the tracking session in the spacious A room or mix records or DVD in 5.1 he loves the athmosphere ideal for artistic creation. Just ask the artists

Denis Savage — FOH mixer and sound designer
Graduate of l'Université du Québec à Montréal in Communications, Denis Savage is one of the most famous sound mixers in Canada. Well known for his live work as well as his studio work, he has been Celine Dion's "front of house" mixer for more than 18 years and has also mixed all the live albums and DVDs for Celine. In Quebec and around the world, Denis has collaborated as mixer and producer with many acclaimed artists such as Garou, Isabelle Boulay, Laurence Jalbert and others. With a well developed musical ear, and being thoroughly organized, Denis Savage has stayed in great demand even after his move to Las Vegas. In his down time (which is all too rare!!) he is an avid golfer, motorcycle enthusiast and loves good food and good wine. He always finds the time to be there for any technical advice or support for the clients and staff of the studio. He loves to work on new ideas, usually keeps a few aces up his sleeve, and regularly provides great surprises to increase the quality of the services offered at the Studios Piccolo, i.e. the new SSL for the "C" room.
